Himmatwala is an official remake of the 1983 blockbuster of the same name, directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, starring, Jeetendra and Sridevi. The film stars Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah Bhatia and is directed by Sajid Khan. Dharam Murti is a headmaster in Shaktinagar and resides with his wife. Savitri and two children, Ravi and Padma. After witnessing Sher Singh Bandookwala murdering someone, he lodges a complaint to the police. Sher Singh gets arrested but only briefly, he uses all his power to get bail. A few days later, Dharam is spotted with Menaka, the new school teacher in a compromising position and Dharam leaves town, abandoning his wife and children. Savitri works extremely hard and single handedly supports her family and helps her son, Ravi become an engineer. Upon growing up, Ravi wishes to seek revenge against those who wronged him.
